I am not the process of restoring a Koken tiger oak barber chair and it currently has a red velvet in the upholstered parts. I am wondering if you can guide me in what kind of velvet fabric I should consider. I have had all the metal parts re-plated and the chair was restored when I bought it. The oak is in outstanding condition and it is something we would rarely sit on, but should I consider leather instead of velvet? The parts to be recovered are at a professional uphosterer who is retired but has done several barber chairs in the past. I have spent quite a bundle on the replacing process so I don't want to get the wrong material. Thanks for any help you can provide. We are on Whidbey island in Washington state. I also have a paidar chair I did many years ago. It is pale yellow enamel with a dark green velvet upholstery and chrome metal parts. It is beautiful and sitting in my man cave which is where the Koken will go. Thanks in advance for any help! 360 969 2631
